In short:
A Canberra innovation that can detect contaminants in dairy products could reduce milk waste, with around 150 million tonnes currently wasted annually.
It allows dairy companies, who previously had to wait two to three days to receive routine laboratory test results, to test on site in just three minutes.
What’s next?
The Cybertongue technology may be expanded to test food for allergens or even some bacterial toxins in future.
When I google cybertongue I am disappointed to only find images of their technology and not something inappropriate.
I met Stephen the other week and had a chat about the tech in this. Very clever idea with incredible sensitivity to trace concentrations of almost any chemical or protein.
Great to hear, thanks for sharing. I always love some good CSIRO news.
