I’m looking for a good FOSS podcast app for android. Ideally something from F-Droid, but anywhere works.
Sources don’t matter, just mainly free podcasts is what I’m looming for.
AntennaPod. It’s available through F-Droid.
The one problem with this app is that it has weird statuses for downloaded episodes, like deletion is separate from removing it from the queue, which I don’t understand. I wish they could just combine these.
This is the one. You can add podcasts through RSS feeds. No accounts, no subscriptions, no nonsense.

Is there a way to skip ads within the podcast? Like sponsor block on YouTube?
No. And the dev(s) have said that they refuse to implement such feature. :(
I have never seen an app as respectful of my data usage as AntennaPod

I self-host podcasts on my server and then play them from a web app my phone. The software on both sides is called AudioBookshelf.
