Rock/paper/scissors style combat, simple, easy to understand

Loved the shit out of this. Barely remember it.
One thing I do remember is, get the salamander summon. It looked fucking awesome and hit everything
It’s super fun, I’ve beaten it twice. No perma death makes it feel a bit lower stakes than similar games, and the variety in win conditions and the wildly different terrain on each stage makes it so the gameplay never has time to get stale.
Absolutely loved this game as a kid, played the absolute shit out of it. I cant really remember why I liked it more than FF Tactics, I just know I did but everyone else disagreed with me back then. And probably now.
Isn’t the protag Ash, and that’s the villain? I only know this game from niche videos on Youtube about how broken he becomes if you do his sidequest.

Banging game, cleared this multiple times when it came out. I loved this game.
I fucking loved that game growing up. It was the first trpg I ever played, it’s probably why I love games like xcom 2 so much
