There’s two general types of pedophilia, hebephilia, ephebophilia.
Those who legitimately have a sexual preference disorder typically as a side effect of a wider hormonal or developmental disorder.
These people can’t help it, or physically lack the mental awareness to even understand it’s wrong. In most cases it’s manageable one way or another. This is also the only case where fake cp actually has shown actual use as a management and treatment method.

I imagine that power is a similar stimulant as drugs. The more you have, the more you want. And with any kind of addiction, it quickly becomes toxic. You’re wealthy, so you want to be super rich. Once you’re super rich you want to have direct power over people instead of just power through capital. One form of this may be political activities, lobbyism, propaganda, buying land, sport teams etc. Another can be sexual domination and abuse and getting away with it. It’s all a form of ‘I can do whatever I want’. I guess Trump admitted the sexual dimension several times (‘grab em by the pussy’).
