When I get back in bed with my first cup of the day, the kitty typically gets on my lap and takes a big SNIFF of it. I’ve never seen another animal be consistently interested like that- I like to imagine she’s a reincarnation who really enjoyed coffee in a past life, and this is a simple reminder of that 
Birds, for some reason, want to drink anything you do. When I had a Cockatiel I had to constantly watch her if there was coffee around because that shit is poisonous as fuck to birds.
I never knew that they’d be so inquisitive! I have no experience with domestic birds, but volunteered/took a handling course at a raptor center and it’s so incredible how capable they are of interacting with the human world. But I don’t need to tell you that- you’re an owl on a web forum
If I ask mine to take a sniff she’s like augh, veggies, bye
