those big pillows (ig they’re called bed rest pillows? according to five seconds of searching) with the lil arms help a lot but it’s just not a very cozy position (particularly after a few hours)
Chaise lounge chairs are the only way I can read a book for over 30 minutes without fucking up my neck and back. Even the cheap foldable ones are pretty comfy.
My partner has one with a stand that works well for an iPad and one that holds books, too.
Stay away from any of them that have smooth plastic shield on the gooseneck part though. Those are some kind of pliable metal that fatigues and breaks pretty quickly. The ones with spiral metal wrapped around it have held up so far

Good news! I saw a goose-neck device holder on rednote last night that clips to a headboard! I don’t have a headboard… But if I did!
I bought one of those but my headboard is dummy thicc and can’t be contained by the clip. 😅
