Everything is “self defense”. That infant they just murdered was a Hamas fighter in training. Very early training true, but learning how to speak is the logical first step in Hamas training.
If there’s outrage over the murder of children, you just claim that the real target was a Hamas fighter nearby without naming said fighter or saying where exactly they were hiding when you murdered a group of children with sniper rifles or air strikes.
