The problem in the US is that everything is to far from everything else thanks to low density, sprawling suburbs. Public transport works best in high density neighborhoods where they constantly have enough passengers that allows for a bus every 5 minutes. The other difference is that in my city you don’t get any free parking, because the land value is insane and parking garages charge something like $10/h or so. This means for me driving into the city would be expensive, inconvenient and slow because of the traffic lights on every corner, so bus or tram wins every time over the car.

This is most likely more expensive, because you need 2 water cycles. One with a clean cooling liquid that carries the heat from the CPUs to a heat Transfer/cooling block, and then another system that passes river water over the cooling block. You cannot just use the river water directly because of all the sediment and other elements in untreated water that may clog or corrode your pipes.

While we are at it, the size of the batteries should also be standardized. If the battery in my laptop is dead after 6 years, I should be able to get a replacement from any electronics store from some reliable brand, similar to aa, AAA or AAA batteries. Right now it feels like each gadget invents its own battery size and capacity that it stops manufacturing 6 months after the product hits the market.

Im sure there are a lot of deals and agreements in place with other countries from earlier administrations, something like “you give us military support, in exchange we give you resources, buy US bonds or trade our oil in USD”. As far as i remember Europe adopted some of the US copyright law for the internet after hollywood the US administration pushed for it, so if you host pirated US movies in europe you can be sent to an US jail for that. I a lot of those deals would be canceled by the other states if it turns out that the US does not hold up their part of the deal.

I’m against training on my code because my code is terrible. The only thing worse is the other code from coworkers in the same project.

The takeaway for the next government here is essentially: we can do what we want, send anyone to jail, kill people on the street and nothing bad will happen, and no one in power will suffer any consequences.
