Theoretically, this is the purpose of a lobby group. The Tales series got so close with the combat system, where each player gets to control one character in the party, but they fumbled it by tying everything to player 1 outside of battle.

Instead, I’d want something akin to how Larian games handle it. Every character gets free reign to initiate their own cutscenes and story progression.

Basically, I want a version of BG3 with separate battle screens as realtime combat arenas and a dumb melodramatic anime plot.

The other option would be a third party would check your ID an provide Google only with the information that the request is done by somebody of legal age.

You’re just shifting the problem down the chain. There is no guarantee that this third party would be any more trustworthy than Google. They could even be less trustworthy, in fact.
