I can say that most job postings sound like this. Reading through parts of it sound like your spearheading a new initiatiative, some sounds like you will run a team, and some sounds like your running the ticket queue. I don’t know if its the lets get someone and expect them to do everything thing or if its the thing where they gather all sorts of things around a job and similar jobs and just plaster them into tha listing without having the direct report look it over. I actually did work for a small place. I was hired by a guy running the IT but he left and the guy who owned the company decided he would save money and take over the role. He did not know what he was doing. He ended up having me move everything to google apps and then when another employee left and did not back up important files he wanted me to say it was my fault for some reason (I think his reasoning was I should have foreseen this and put something up but I had been telling him the whole time we should make sure people keep their stuff on the backed up file server) and I said no and he let me go. I was annoyed to have to go find work and not be getting a regular paycheck for awhile until I did but otherwise was not unhappy to be away from the place. Should have started looking for a new gig after my boss quit and he decided he could just cover the IT management himself.

yeah just that the one made it seem like things were growing up until recently to me. People talk about the effects of pandemic but I think some of it was the obsession with dev ops. I think a lot of peoples roles where changed to dev or they wanted their titles to reflect it more.

yup thats exactly it. Its the guys integrity that really makes it. Well that and he knows what he is doing. You know honor and self respect are as important to him as making money. Im pretty sure he charged based on the longest it would reasonably take that would not screw himself over. His profit margin was basically when everything goes smoothly.

I don’t want more capability in general. I kinda want less. like no calendar and such. what I do want is the dumb phone to be able to act as a cellular hotspot for my laptop but I would like it to be able to do it and stay sub $100.

oh yeah its good for that. I know I can sometimes write without really taking into account what the end user may not know. Or its just not well formatted and business like enough.

Okay. It was just not clear when you first said how you would put it in chat gpt. Granted I will answer work questions from myself because if they are asking I generally just know the answer or if I don’t I say I don’t. I might even say I think that is somewhere in the wiki or give a wiki link. Much more common if I wrote the wiki section which is kinda common if they are asking me. I might though ask if they did and where it lost them as then I can improve the wiki.

I knew a guy that did car repairs that did not need a lift or taking out the engine. Would do oil changes and even charged a bit more than cheap places but say on par with a dealership. Was worth it though as you got an oil change and an honest inspection of your vehicle. He would drive it around a bit after and even do something like a grocery trip in your car but again it was worth it because he was evaluating the performance while driving it. Was hard to explain but if I had someone like that nearby I would use them in a heartbeat.

yeah im not sure turkey is the best example. I mean if you otherwise a relatively rationally acting democracy it feels like you should not allow any military incursion into your actual territory as its just such a slippery slope.

You know I was never into sports. Then I had a roommate in college that was so into sports it got me to at least enjoy it in a home team type of way. Now though its so corpo and part of the dystopia keep falling deeper into that I sorta actively hate it. I used to say it was more fun to watch a little league or high school game but I swear even those are being coopted.
