What’s the “catch one with blue eyes that’s more than two months old” mean? Is there something that makes ones with blue eyes unlikely to survive?

We rescued this guy about 4 years ago now and although he’s got severe separation anxiety, (like it stresses him out if my spouse and I are not in the same room for whatever reason) he otherwise seems healthy. If only 1 of us is home he seems alright, but if one of us is in the bedroom and the other in the living room, he’ll come yelling at one of us until we are in the same room.

As you can imagine working from home is not a good time for him. But he somehow knows specific sounds I haven’t identified yet to predict what will happen. Like if I am going to take a break/lunch at 12 today and 2 tomorrow, my spouse tells me the cat gets up from passed the fuck out nap and runs to the door (which is open enough that he could walk in) and sits outside it waiting for me to open the door. So it’s not a set schedule thing 🤷

  • I really do wonder what the implications of cars moving to electric energy will have on the impact of transportation infrastructure.

For instance I don’t believe electricity has the same “scarce-bility”/manipulation as fossil fuels do. The U.S. subsidizes oil so much because it is making the people who pay their campaigns rich. Solar and such are relatively easy compared to drilling your own oil, refining it and making it ready for your vehicle.

So when it gets to the point that it is more expensive for all cars to be gas powered, I think we will see that electricity companies won’t hold the same monopoly values at manipulating markets. So instead of saying, I want to pay $X a year in electric to drive my car, I’d rather pay X/3

Anyways I’m off topic but we’ll see

What if I just wanted more cheese than egg.

Like when you ask how much parm to mix with egg in a cabanara, and the answer many shaped men like myself answer is until I can’t afford it. (Which is the #1 reason I don’t make carbanara more)

Anyways, if it’s got more cheese then egg… Maybe it is the cheeses omlet

  • Drones hiding in a stationary location, having got there how? It’s the words of a fool.

You know what is a threat though, that 40% of ships exist solely to move fossil fuels from place to place. Drones can’t reach the mainland U.S. from say the Middle East. But Drones don’t need to reach from the Middle East when you offer copious amount of traveling routes and ships they can land and take off from where their range suddenly isn’t an issue. Seems like it would be much easier to launch a drone from near one of our own ports onto our soil. After all, they are going to wave those ships along every time and let them go where they need to go.

  • To me it’s just an easy way to control people. Trump’s admin doesn’t want all immigrants gone. They just know it’s easy to make people angry and manipulate what they vote for when they are angry.

Permenant worker Visas are up drastically in 2026 from previous years. Temporary work visas and travels for immigrants are occuring all over. But people like Trump don’t care about the racism/division/mistreatment anyone else will ever encounter but himself.

So long as he can lie and keep repeating himself over and over and people believe it, that’s all that matters for him.

If you tell someone fentanyl deaths per year ~doubled under Trumps 1st admin, and ~halved under Bidens admin most voters would have gawked at that and called it a lie when voting started in November 2024. Because they were told a million times he is tough on crime, and that the drug problem was from immigrants.

Yet… All the facts never matched up. The candidates in my state right now are constantly running ads about how they are going to fight violent crime by deporting illegal immigrants who forced themselves into our country. (We are a landlocked state, like 1200 miles from the border). And all statistics show migrants are less likely to commit violent crimes. So you would actually do better at reducing violent crimes by looking elsewhere for the cause.

But why would they care about being wrong, all they have to do is keep repeating others lies as if they are true, and get a quick easy racist base they can build a campaign around.

Just this last week, Microsoft fires 4,000+ employees… And asks the government to get approval for 2000+ visas for immigrants to fill positions.

Another fun one is teachers. I don’t know a single state in the Union that would vote to lower teachers wages if they were asked individually/democratically. Yet more than half the voters voted to dismantle the department of education…

So if the DOE pays 12-14% of public education, de-funding that means either the Republicans were voting to INCREASE their state and local taxes to offset all that, or they were voting to decrease teachers wages…

None of it adds up other than getting a group of people angry, and making them dumber by agreeing with a group than thinking for themselves. They’re giving litter boxes to kids in classrooms so they can be furries! The immigrants are eating the pets! They are forcing our kids to be gay! It doesn’t need to be grounded in reality, once you have enough of them mad at something, you just throw other absurd shit in there and people will accept it more willingly.
