What’s the “catch one with blue eyes that’s more than two months old” mean? Is there something that makes ones with blue eyes unlikely to survive?

We rescued this guy about 4 years ago now and although he’s got severe separation anxiety, (like it stresses him out if my spouse and I are not in the same room for whatever reason) he otherwise seems healthy. If only 1 of us is home he seems alright, but if one of us is in the bedroom and the other in the living room, he’ll come yelling at one of us until we are in the same room.
As you can imagine working from home is not a good time for him. But he somehow knows specific sounds I haven’t identified yet to predict what will happen. Like if I am going to take a break/lunch at 12 today and 2 tomorrow, my spouse tells me the cat gets up from passed the fuck out nap and runs to the door (which is open enough that he could walk in) and sits outside it waiting for me to open the door. So it’s not a set schedule thing 🤷

I’m fairly certain this one means “why are you laying down with the light on, there literally are toys to play with”
