The AI bubble depends on this kind of brainwashing to stay inflated. But they can’t escape the truth, that AI is an answer looking for a question that isn’t necessarily being asked. Sure there are useful applications, but I don’t actually need it for anything I do.
It seems to be a big deal to people who don’t know how to do a lot of stuff. I already know how to do a lot of things, and I know how to find info by reading when I need to learn something, so the most popular use cases for AI don’t apply to me and I just don’t use it.

Links to this site were shared around a few weeks ago - free repair manuals for most cars here:

Found the ones I needed on there, which were not even available to buy from the carmakers.

Cash and card payments are perfectly fine for all of my in-person shopping needs. I don’t use a phone for banking or paying

For entertainment ticket price perspective, I paid less than $50 to see half of Led Zeppelin in concert (Jimmy Page & Robert Plant show) and it was fuckin’ awesome. But I’m not a sports fan so I wouldn’t pay even $50 to see a FIFA match.

This should be the response in every incidence of false arrest (a lawsuit), especially when involving these dystopian Big Brother surveillance systems.

There is zero nutritional value in AI slop

Hey they finally put a power button on it, that’s cool.
Still, $130 for the 4GB model is double the price I paid for the Pi 4 with 4GB. Good thing I don’t need another one yet

China has already solved that with better cars for the same price, but they are not being sold to us

Varies a lot by area. For example the city of Portland has about 55% of residents in single detached houses (not apartments).

That’s Zach Kanin, the co-writer for most of Tim Robinson’s shows

Metal Gear Solid IV duh

Works here, thanks!

Exactly, we don’t need it for anything. I have zero tasks that I need automation for on my phone. In fact, I have typically zero tasks that I need to do on my phone at all.
You know what tasks I actually NEED to do? I need to mow my back yard, and I need to install gutters on my house. AI is not going to help any of that, so it’s useless for my needs. Meanwhile, it is wasting a fortune in energy and an environmental crisis worth of water.
When their store application was new, it was caught doing spyware-like actions scanning through users’ computers without consent or notice. Their “Free” games might come with another price you don’t see. I wouldn’t install it.

I saw that. Tim Heidecker was awesome doing his AJ impersonation

That is not the case with mine. It’s about 3.5% variable, sometimes over 4%, plain cash savings account in the US. I can transfer from savings to checking at another bank on the same day and withdraw whatever I want. As the other reply from cattywampas said, the number of withdrawals is limited but that’s no issue for me.

Too many people are brain hostages to the idea that apps do everything and you need an app for everything, even though most of the things are just websites. But all the apps are really doing is spying while they deliver their version of the website.

But I don’t need it, and most people also don’t need it. I’ve never spent any money on AI and I still don’t talk to any inanimate objects.
That sucks and all, but I’m glad I don’t need any apps or a cellphone to use my car. Offline car is best.
