It’s not the fact they did find it, I was aware of sites like ghosddit (as i said before) that allow you to do the same thing, im just pissed its on google, so basically anyone without a brain can do it, like ofc we know google is not a good company but still, its a combination of things, lemmy doesn’t lie saying your shit is private then selling your info to google so it appears on the results.

In reddit you can click on an option that will hide all your posts and comments in the platform from people checking out your profile (it will be blank basically) while there are some tools to view this anyways, you gotta know they exist and look for them, however, now it seems you can straight up google someone’s reddit username, and even if they chose the option to hide their posts, google will show every single one of them, im not that pissed at the guys that manage sites like ghosddit, but for a big company to do that is way worse, seems they are slowly gonna stop caring and push surveillance faster and faster, hell 2027 and IDs on OS is getting closer and closer, whatever happens with that, the intentions are clear, they’ll keep on pushing this, and they are slowly not even trying to hide that fact

Yeah i won’t go a ton into detail, but he (i wont say which one out of the 2 main guys) had an interesting relationship with his girlfriend at the time, so he threw some cash my way for me to do her in front of him. Also they love playing the stock market, this godot guy told me he over estimates consulting jobs for big companies (2 weeks for a thing that takes him like 3-4 days) and then he spends the rest of the time playing with stocks, he tried to explain it to me but it was super complicated for my small brain. I mean we are already halfway there, i had to do a thing with my mobile phone provider, i had to talk to a computer for 4 full hours before i was finally connected with a human, i think this is more likely, it will just get longer, maybe you’ll need 6 hours or days of talking to an AI and then they might connect you to a human

I’ll say something stupid here, are drunk driving accidents just because the guy was slightly drunk or because he wasn’t skilled enough at driving? I’d bet an f1 driver could survive driving on a regular neighborhood off skill alone, while a regular person could prob crash and burn. I think being homeless is the same as drinking alcohol while driving, the alcohol being the social difficulties/outside circumstances and then your personal skill in managing life/jobs. I think it’s both, but after you become homeless for a while, its harder to get back on track so you can spiral down and then it’s harder.

After all the dumb changes to reddit and surveillance in general I decided to try and look for an alternative, If I knew it was this easy to get into lemmy I would’ve done it SO much sooner. Also i think this is my first day here? And every time I posted something I got a TON of responses, like I could argue even more attention than I would get on reddit, also the responses were better? Like what? How? There’s way less users here… Just imagine if Lemmy grew just a bit more, doesn’t need to beat reddit at all, just to grow a bit more (with good users ofc) That would be insane, Im having way more fun here already, the community is so much better, the only thing im missing/haven’t found yet, is those r4r reddit-like forums where you get to meet people to dm and stuff

While it might not be the hardest part, I do feel it is a factor, so all things being equal i think it can help to choose a good first programming language that will help out the on-boarding process.

I’ll second this, after distro hopping a bit at the beginning I ended up choosing Mint, it works and with i3 its like 500mb of idle ram, so far I haven’t found any reason to switch to a less user friendly distro, I don’t know what the advantages would be in using a more complicated/prone to breaking distro instead of mint. I’m open to switching though if I find something I like more, but Mint is amazing as a gateway drug distro, made coming over to linux SO much better, now I’m slowly infecting my family computers with mint aswell, gotta spread the virus
