I’d love to have no WhatsApp in my life. Many years ago, I signed off it as I did with Facebook. Sadly, because of where we are at the moment, my partner is now the main hub for communication with businesses and people who don’t care about or aren’t aware of Meta’s privacy practices. After many arguments, I’m now being forced to share the communication responsibilities and reinstall WhatsApp.
For those who can, I read a suggestion once that struck me with its simplicity: turn your account into a business one and set an automatic reply letting anyone who messages you know that you’ve moved permanently and how to find you.

You can ask TikTok to delete any data it already has about you.
Contact TikTok directly through their privacy/deletion request process.

It has nothing to do of the fact that it’s constantly being shoved and pushed down our throats by some of the worst human beings imaginable, wanting to maximize profits at the expense of humanity itself.
Billionaire technocrats pitch “AI will cure cancer and free humanity” but instead this shit steals jobs, creates poverty, abuses natural resources and rapes our privacy.
Fuck AI, it was always about helping ascend the elite to an untouchable place.
2·4 months agoI’d guess it’s because people are either lazy and not wanting to type the text out, or people don’t like / know about modern tools to extract the text for posting.
Also, meme culture doesn’t have the same ring to it when the text is extracted from the picture.

I didn’t know it and although the read was interesting to me I didn’t immediately make the connection, no divisiveness intended on my behalf. Disregard the post if you like, we are all free to listen to eachother’s point of views, then arrive at our own conclusions .
They worked on it in stages—starting with early ideas up to mid-2025, then continuing to build from there. But instead of sticking with that first draft, they threw it out and started over from scratch.
They also didn’t settle on just one ending. After finishing their first version (the one marked in red), they created a second, more hopeful outcome starting from roughly the same point. That version also went through several rounds of revisions.
And this wasn’t made up out of nowhere—it was based on about 25 tabletop exercises and feedback from over 100 people, including dozens of experts who work directly in AI governance and AI technical fields.

No I haven’t tried any of these 12 apps, I am perfectly happy with Gimp, affinity photo and LibreOffice. I posted this because for one, the opensource community three days ago had a fervent conversation about photocraft, the same developer. Secondly, as written in the rules of the community it says “feel free to ask questions and share news, and interesting stuff.”
I am not promoting anything AI, in fact I hate the direction it is going in and the threat it poses to real developers. That said, there is clearly a plenty of schadenfreude that comes from this, nobody can’t deny its sweet to extend the middle finger to these megacorps.
