Like how the government should stay out of people’s private lives, like what/how they worship and who they love…

For me, this is the top comment because I was also taught that the government should stay out of people’s private lives (what/how they worship, who they love, etc), and I still hold these ideals dear to my heart. What still fucks w/ me to this day is that I was also taught that it was one particular party who represents these ideals, and it took me until well into my twenties to figure out that that was the lie!
