Google has been my default search engine in Firefox for… Well, pretty much ever. Lately when you go there, there’s a full screen pop up asking if you want to try out AI Search mode. Nevermind the fact that I already applied a ublock filter to cut out their AI summary bullshit, no this is on top of that. You can click on the AI mode button, or click Not Interested.
I have clicked Not Interested every few days for the last month or so. Without fail, every two to three days max, it asks again in a full screen pop up. Every time, Not Interested.
And today I just said, why in the fuck am I doing this? I finally fucking switched. Fuck Google and fuck this AI trend. I’m so goddamn sick of it being crammed down my fucking throat holy shit. If I fucking say Not Interested, it means I am NOT FUCKING INTERESTED.

Good.
Neat, TIL.
For a layman, how might one deduce if they were affected? I cannot really tell from the article if this was particularly widespread.

Jellyfin and Emby are kinda the same thing.
This is some fucking boomer humour.

I don’t want any of the games, just wanted to say thanks for doing this!

You can, in fact, be thankful that you weren’t stabbed while also being upset that you were punched. Adults can have more than one emotion at a time. Never heard of a “silver lining”? It’s an idiom for a reason.

Well when I had made the comment, there was no news on whether or not they had done that anyway.

Into another environment.

I mean, I know what your point is, but can we actually just be thankful that they did not in fact blow up an oil tanker and spill all that into the sea?

I mean, Crucial is just the name that Micron puts on the memory they want to sell to consumers. So this story is basically just, “Micron no longer wants to sell to consumers”.

Strange, Jellyfin doesn’t log me out that often. Maybe a configuration difference?
I’ve heard about Jellyfin’s security before but my, admittedly limited, understanding is that it’s pretty limited in what an attacker could do. Granted I host behind tailscale anyway.
What’s Plexamp and Tautulli?

Interesting. Jellyfin doesn’t have something exactly like that afaik, but it does have genre categories. I don’t think a more robust category feature is really something I need personally though, so I don’t think I’m missing out.

Unless I’m missing something, Jellyfin can do playlists just fine for my liking anyway.
What are Smart Collections?

What little things? I’ve been using Jellyfin for a while now with very few complaints, but maybe I don’t know what I’m missing.
That’s called being an introvert
Don’t be ridiculous. FIFA doesn’t just hand out their prestigious, respected peace prize to anyone.
