I remember the book series that was called rats, bats, and vats. Its sci-fi but It explores a bit of “Shareholders” AKA people who owned everything and “Vats” people born from vats/test tubes that owned nothing. In fact you owed the shareholders for being born and almost no one could pay for themselves. But if you only got one share, then you had much more rights in the society they found themselves in.

The only people that will make money are the Shareholders and only huge amounts of shares at that. Everyone else will become the “Vats”. Thats one such terrible way of living that I could very well see occurring in the US. Next generation land owners vs everyone else except its peoples time via shares.

It was sooo bad. We had such a bad time with it. The controller buttons stick, the software was super buggy, and they required a credit card to log in (I dont know if that changed after the first couple of months, but I remember being pissed).

Yep. Thats what ive seen on both my instances. Piefed has had a lot of new features. Lemmy has had stable dev work.

Learning is fine. Its not too much different than other development if you have ever worked on java.

That being said if i had to make an app, i would just make a mobile site and call it a day. That way you can have iphone and any computer work with it.

Just take out the battery of any phone like a fairphone and most will work.

I remember having a blast with lightning force (same game different name if I recall). Im still chasing that a bit. Although Eartheon does it a bit. Im still looking for the game at my local game store…but havent found it in years.

OK I found out after I got home for lunch.

Its just a script that reaches out to my old mac mini that does the build in a VM. New VM each time. It was good enough for my purposes. The windows runner for Xamarin worked without issues in .net with windows runners. So just two physical boxes I would spin up on the fly. I thought it was more but that was it. I stopped using it a while back and just use linux for builds now since thats mostly my day job. I stopped doing other env work a bit ago.

I recall there was a way… But its coming up blank. Im at work so ill try looking it up. It mifht be a custom thing i set up years ago…or just an old intel mac with tools setup.

With some effort woodpecker is available. But yeah i wws spoiled on semi free builds. And circle ci builds back in the day.

Essentailly. Theres a couple of peertube instances that had that issue if i recall. Filters started to go up a coupke of years ago. Admins can see it pretty easy in the logs most of the time once its pointed out. Its a timing thing. Some software is beyter at it than others.
