Yikes. I don’t use the website or share links, but that is a bit concerning.
Oh well… they are screwed to my house now.

I recently invested in some Eufy (Anker) cameras for my house, and they store data locally to a hard drive in a small standalone machine.
I don’t know how much I trust them, but I trust them a lot more than the Amazon ring cameras I replaced.

That works too well.
Pihole is great, little hardware projects are fun (touchscreen calendar in the kitchen). They also make great emulators for old systems if you want to install a gaming oriented OS like retropie or lakka and get a gamepad or two.
I personally wouldn’t use it for a server, but it’s a good learning environment to figure out how to run services.
The beauty of the pi is it is an SD card swap away from doing a different job. You can buy a few fast cheap 16-32gb SD cards and play around with different options and operating systems.
Or you can do what I do: get it all set up, shut it down, and forget it exists until you have some wild idea.

This is what ‘do not track’ was for.

It didn’t work because it was up to the sites to read and respect the flag, which they did not.

They should probably get him out of the hospital and bring him to a priest /s

Someone needs to sit rfk jr down and explain freshman level science to him. Just the scientific process and learning that correlation does not imply causation would do wonders.

I would run folding at home or seti to warm my room back in college. It was surprisingly effective when I kept the door closed.
That said, I don’t particularly want someone else’s server equipment in my home unless I get root too.

If we can make it through to midterm elections I will worry then.

Caffeine is bitter. That’s why they mask it with sweet flavors in soda. Just drink it during the day as a treat occasionally and have water (or something else) with dinner?

This will be truth social again with a pre-existing user base and better algorithms. People will drop off, but they will probably boil the frog slowly to keep people around.

Same, I think deals on the lifetime pass still show up periodically, but I got it when it was about $40 too. It’s good software I use daily, so I’m happy with it.
Looks like on the last deal it was $120
Currently it is $250, which is too rich for my blood. Then again I just paid $70 for Doom the dark ages

It’s very awkward. I think they mean you can stop the intent to cancel, so cancel the cancellation.

Certainly the CEOs will patiently ensure guardrails are in place before chasing a ROI. Right? … Right?
Uh oh…

Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll check it out!

I could imagine a world where whole virtual organizations could be spun up, and they can just run in the background creating whole products, marketing them, and doing customer support, etc.
Right now the technology doesn’t seem there yet, but it has been rapidly improving, so we’ll see.
I could definitely see rich CEOs funding the creation of a “celebrity” bot that answers questions the way they do. Maybe with their likeness and voice, so they can keep running companies from beyond the grave. Throw it in one of those humanoid robots and they can keep preaching the company mission until the sun burns out.
What a nightmare.

I don’t like being a tinfoil hat guy, but I can’t help wondering who this benefits the most. Sure seems like the right is capitalizing on this very quickly.
Other countries could be involved, it could just be a crazy person with a gun, it could be someone who hated his hateful messaging. We don’t know.
How about we minimally figure out what actually happened before honoring a podcaster, who got killed, like he is a war hero?
We usually put on something like a kids movie or a sitcom. I avoid action shows or anything with loud noises or explosions.
Someone already mentioned it, but Bluey seems to work. We also put on shows like the Golden Girls or Family Matters, because it is good wholesome family entertainment, and she’s family.
