  • Money. He could afford lawyers that were able to dive into every possible way of explaining away his crimes in a way that fit the jury’s concept of reasonable doubt. Also by being able to avoid needing to address violence charges that were past the statute of limitations. Harder to sell violence as a way of coercing when you can’t prosecute for it.

Plus he is famous and that frequently allows for less social judgement of crimes.

  • Dreams are just the brain sorting out memories, and they often get jumbled which is why they are generally surreal. I have had friends who were lucid dreamers, they just had more intentional purpose to their memory sorting.

I generally don’t remember dreams, like maybe a few a year. As in waking up occasionally means knowing what I was just dreaming about, and rarely having that stick more than a few minutes.

My most recent memorable dreams were a few weeks ago and involved zombies and the people around me doing the absolute most ridiculous stuff to get themselves bitten. Not scary really, just frustrating. Warched a few zombie movies a few days prior and then had some people around me make boneheaded decisions so I am guessing my brain was sorting those two unrelated things. Don’t remember the details of what the people were doing in the dream, just that it was stupid and resulted in getting bit.

  • Who did it better?

NASA did all the work to establish the concept of space flight. NASA is also held to more stringent safety requirements because they are a government agency, which drives up costs. NASA blowing up a rocket on takeoff is seen differently than a private company, which just costs more. Same as medical equipment vs similar non-medical equipment, getting from 99.99% reliable to 99.9999% is a cost multiplier.

Not to mention the cost to send stuff to space via private companies is subsidized by investors. It is a made up number, like all the cab 2.0 company pricing when they first started ignoring laws that applied to cabs.

It isn’t more efficient to do everything privately. It just looks that way if you ignore all the government funded research and investments hiding costs.

Also I’m not talking about communism. I’m just talking about government vs private, and if you can’t wrap your head around that then call it socialist.

  • Mine is petty, but is due to having an internal voice when I read. When commonly used words are misspelled, like using loose instead of lose, I ‘hear’ it pronounced as spelled and it drives me nuts. Homophones like their and there don’t annoy me nearly as much.

I also mispronounce words learned from reading that don’t follow normal phonetic patterns that I’m used to, like melee, so I do understand why people mix up loose and lose. It is still painful to read.
