And the human brain is just fatty tissue and neurons.

But if you ever forget the with keyword, you have a leak. With proper RAII the resource acquisition and release is a property of the object’s type and impossible to forget. RAII doesn’t just mean “resource acquisition is initialization”, it also implies “destruction is resource release”.

Maybe you’re thinking of IDisposable with the using keyword. The problem with that is that you have to remember to use it in every call site. Nothing stops a caller from writing var x = new Foo() and walking away.

You can’t, not in e.g. Java or C#.
C++ and Rust are the only languages I know of that do this right.

Garbage collection doesn’t solve the problem either, cause it’s too unpredictable and typically doesn’t even give you the option to close resources when memory is reclaimed. So just opening SQL connections and forgetting to close them will quickly drain the connection pool.

The executive accused the media of spreading “misinformation and outright lies,” arguing that “in the age of social media and 24/7 news, myths take hold faster than ever before.”
Yeah? Well whose fault is that?

My kid actually complained that the internet is slow when he was getting 24 MB/s on a Steam download.
When I was his age I got 300 bytes/s.
Bread is greater than key.

How about policy makers don’t use fictional Hollywood shows to justify torture? “But Jack did it on 24!” is an unhinged argument and anyone who uses it should lose their job.
And having all body parts is also a worthwhile trait in a partner. But that doesn’t mean you get a license to call them gross when they don’t.
Stupid is most definitely not a just choice.

Yeah, I’d wager many of the people losing the jobs over this weren’t producing much of value in the first place.

Just like contractors look at my Google searches

Well, many comments here have said similar things and some provided sources to prove me wrong on the 90% claim. I appreciate that you’re arguing in good faith, so I’ll just respond to everyone here and say I take that back. My personal experience comes mostly from working for an Israeli company, so I may be biased. I won’t make the same mistake in the future.
That said, my core point was never intended to be about how many jews condemn the genocide. It was a complaint about the audacious hypocrisy of supporting the genocide while using that same treatment of your ancestors to put yourself on moral high ground or to solicit empathy. It’s a real thing that happens, and my complaint applies to whomever it applies to.

I’ve seen Palestinians complaining about Hamas. I’ve never seen a Jew complaining about Israel. But fair enough, if you are a Jew and you do condemn Israel then you’re all good in my book. I’m talking about those who support Israel in what they’re doing, which from where I’m sitting looks like it’s more than 90% of them.

Sure, objectively they are all bad. But when someone’s promoting genocide it’s hypocritical for them simultaneously whine about another genocide.

There are many Jewish folks who hate Israel and what they do.
Who? Where are they?
If you want to bang your mom and feel no shame, it’s technology.
