The election results will be shite regardless who will form a new weak government but there might be some good things to come out of it, like hopefully the end of support for far right populism for some time ahead.

When the elections were closing in, Åkesson (leader of SD, the far right nationalists) finally went all in with the xenophobia that was previously implied but not said out loud. I think it was this move that cost him a lot of votes from all shades of Swedes that realized what they were going to vote for. About fucking time.

Nothing new. Kristersson (of the “Conservative” party (M)oderaterna) being Kristersson, the right wing being the right wing. They have been running Sweden more or less for twenty years now, doing the market liberal dismantling and selling out and privatising everything they can and running the country in the shitter except for the economic elite and the ruthless capitalists. The last four years have been a right wing coalition with the nationalists (SD) as a “support party”, being able to force their political agenda while appearing as opposition in parallel when it doesn’t work out. The Christian Democrats (KD) have been touring together with the nationalists already and their leader is a republican party fangirl. The (L)iberal party leader hugged the nationalist leader a few months ago, welcoming collaboration despite the nationalist party pretty much dismissing all liberal politics, but then again so have L as they are now the “Forbid Everything and yay surveillance” flavour of liberalism. The only one to mildly oppose the nationalists on the right are the ©enter party that are profiling themselves as a right wing green alternative, which is ironic considering they are the old farmers party that fought against any sort of environmental regulations for farmers.

But the left wing is not great either. The (S)ocial democrats have been doing the centrist creep since the early nineties and have participated in the market liberalism when it was popular. They have become a populist shell of the solidarity and workers party they once were. The Left (V) are the old Communist party and still so on paper, but their politics today are pretty much in line with the old school (S), though they still have some old totalitarian nutters in their ranks.

The Greens (MP) are theoretically outside the spectrum but clearly left leaning, as it coincides with their values and pragmatics when it comes to environmental issues.

This coming election seems to be very close and it’s going to be a chiller. If the right wing gets in power with the nationalists, shit is going to get so much worse.

I think the charm is to go find your own way through this wilderness of b-/c- and z-movies, plow through awful but entertaining grindhouse and every once in a while you stumble across something that blows your mind that neither past or new audiences seem to appreciate in any way.

Nothing. I expect to be the last in my family and honestly don’t care much what happens with my estate after I’m dead. I’ve been thinking about setting up a will for the benefit of my friends and their kids but that’s about it. What little is not found by the tax office after my passing doesn’t matter. None of my accounts no longer matter. My photos and videos no longer matter. My favourite songs and movies no longer matter. My opinions no longer matter. Maybe I should ask for someone to remove any identifiable trace of me online though I don’t really know why anybody should be bothered. In less than a hundred years nobody will know I have ever existed. Maybe some reflection or speck of information I’ve shared at some point will anonymously benefit someone in the future but that’s about it. Whatever remains of me online is just digital dust in the crevices of the information highway that nobody will care to examine anyway. And I’m perfectly fine with it.

I think the two finger right button tap has been there on all PC laptops I’ve used since the early 00s, even the lower mid range ones. Most of them have supported two finger scrolling anywhere on the trackpad but a few only did one finger along the edges like the 90s, along with customizable corners and zones and whatnot. Gestures and three finger tap for middle button or other functionality though was random until mid 2010s when it too was widely supported. That is, if we are speaking brand laptops and not junk OEMs or low end garbage.

You could do something small, like find out your representatives and write a personal mail to them, informing them from your point of view. With enough people doing small things and some doing big things the chances for things like this gaining traction are magnitudes bigger than giving up in advance. It takes a few hours to a few days depending on your dedication and whatever cost coffee is in your area of residence.

Yeah, I know. I have a blocklist for LG and other common brands compiled by someone else on my router DNS adblocker. But considering how sneaky they are with collecting information they should stay the fuck away from, I bet they have mechanisms to get around their common ad domains for the data that matters.
