The word “negro” is also used in so many ways that I can’t keep count.
This is awesome he just can’t stop digging. My guy, you’re doubling down on top of your mistake of not understanding that calling someone a “Gallego” as an insult is offensive to people.
I am 100% sure that you will keep using it, you and people like you lack the self analysis skills to be able to change your behaviour. The reason you think it’s inoffensive is that you stay in your bubble of 'Tanos and haven’t spent more than half an hour with an afrodescendent person.
I would love for you to have a black Argentinian friend that you have long conversations with and bring up that word in multiple contexts and see how he reacts. The problem is that you lack the skills to be able to process their discomfort.
Meanwhile, I’d love for you to explain what a “chiste de gallego” is like without making it seem like nothing more than an excuse to punch down on people from Spain.
I’ve spent more than half an hour with people from all around the world and have not had a single issue with any of them.
I would love for you to have a black Argentinian friend
In case you didn’t know, there aren’t virtually any people with black skin (unless they recently immigrated) precisely because we’re not racist. Most, if not all, argentinians are of “mixed” race.
I’d love for you to explain what a “chiste de gallego” is like
Sorry for making jokes about the people that killed indigenous people of south america, robbed them and were pushed out barely over 200 years ago. My deepest apologies for your thin skin.
The natives of Argentina were not black. Africans were brought to the region as slaves and Argentina received a very small number of them. As soon as we could, when we got rid of spain anf wrote our constitution, slavery was abolished.
No one looks down or discriminates black people in argentina. Don’t believe random lies you read on the internet. Also, read a book before spouting nonsense about a country you know nothing about.

I wasn’t saying that was the case. I was saying that you are faking sympathy with the natives while being discriminatory towards the black argentinians.
There is a problem with argentinian attitudes towards black people, which requires self reflection. Here’s some documentation of recent perspectives and incidents :
Although slavery was abolished in Argentina in 1853, the descendants of enslaved Africans – and their influence on the country’s culture, from tango to language and food – remain.
While the constitution was written in 1853, your liberation was much earlier.
Delgado and Gomes point to recent studies of population surveys and genetics that paint a far different picture from Argentina’s accepted history: one recent study concluded that up to 9% of today’s Argentinians may have ancestry from Africa.
In 1778, Africans and Afro-descendants made up 37% of the population of what is now Argentina, according to a census by its Spanish colonialist rulers. In some major provinces the proportion was more than 50%.
That number did not drop significantly after independence from Spain in 1816: Afro-descendants accounted for 30% of the population of Buenos Aires for decades after independence. But after that, the number is unknown, because Argentina’s census bureau stopped collecting racial information.
“Census data was manipulated to erase us first from the statistics – and then from the history books,” says Gomes. “From the end of the 19th century the state meticulously began to make us invisible to present Argentina as homogeneous and of European descent.”
Argentina’s “whitening process” has been studied in depth by US academic Erika Edwards in her book Hiding in Plain Sight, published last year by University of Alabama Press.
“The whitening project was a successful endeavor in terms of the erasure of blackness,” said Edwards. “The
idea that somebody could be the descendant of a slave is just not there.”
“It’s time for Argentinians to take their black grandmother out of the closet,” said Delgado.
Also, from the first article, here’s something that corroborates a video that went viral a while back when an Itallian descendant report interviewed, in a Vox Populi segment, a person from the North of Argentina. She asked how , as a foreigner , the Northerner viewed argentina/buenos aires, to which the interviewee responded that they were Argentinian, and the interviewer proceeded to say “not really, you’re more of a Bolivian”.
Pita said: “An Aymara descendant born in the north of Argentina is treated as Bolivian, a Mapuche born in Argentine Patagonia is treated as Chilean; and an African-descendant from Buenos Aires is treated as Uruguayan or Brazilian, because the only thing considered truly Argentine is whiteness.”
You guys have problems with racism in your country and culture, and need to do some self reflection to process these ideas in order to become better people by not claiming ethnically charged insults are just for “dark humour, you wouldn’t get it”.
Then maybe you can win the world cup a few more times instead of the few that you got, you know, by cheating.
you are faking sympathy with the natives while being discriminatory towards the black argentinians.
When did I do that??? XD Another major difference between other countries and us that there are no “black” or any other type of argentinians. We’re all argentinians. Period.
I’m not even going to bother proving how bad your spurces are and how misguided your view is. It simply doesn’t make sense. You will still believe what you want to believe. Are there some racist people in Argentina? Sure. Aren’t there some shitty people in literally the entire world? Of course. Does that mean that the entire world population is shitty?
Make of that what you will. But don’t project your own racial issues onto other people that have nothing to do with them.

The guardian is a fairly reputable newspaper, reporting on actual research done by Argentinians and books written by Argentinians, to add background information to an actual event that really took place.
Not sure why you think the source is bad. Did you want it from “La Cronica” or something?
Fatal accident in Flores, it has caused the deaths of two people and a Bolivian
