    I can see that reading, but I think the joke would work the same with him bringing home any threatening partner. If it was an orc lady, the dialogue could be the same.

    I mean, yeah, I think there’s some low grade homophobia in here but not malice.

        You‘re not pointing out facts, you’re explaining your own interpretation. I (and the others in this thread) interpreted the parents‘ negative reaction as coming from their son bringing home the „Scourge of the North“ rather than disappointment in his sexuality. The mother says „Smile so he doesn’t kill us“ because he’s evil, not because he’s gay.
