Humans don’t work like that. Geographically, some trends finish in the area they started before they even reach other areas, though the internet has reduced the time lag. But there will be people who get into it before it’s a trend, people that get into it because it’s a trend, and people who continue to repeat it after it’s a trend because they either like it or miss the time when it was a trend. It only dies off as those that hold on to it die off.
So 6-7 will be with us for a long time, though it’s frequency of use could be on a downward trend.
