Are you looking to read into the history or theory of communalism? The Communalist Project is a good place to start for theory, it’s a pretty short essay though. Anything bookchin wrote in the mid-90s-00s is squarely in the Communalist arc of his theory. His early writings are also great though. You really can’t go wrong with him
