I’ve only ever smoked weed and I really wonder what an LSD high feels like since I really love this song. Is it as flowery powery as the song sounds?

Very, very bad in my experience. You don’t hallucinate entire objects so much as textures, which can be very troubling and lead to a spiral if you’re not in a good environment. You’re better off using research chems IMO, which can give a much more manageable effect that doesn’t last 12 hours

Your mileage may vary. I’ve had extremely positive experiences with LSD and other psychedelics. It comes down to a lot of factors including the drug, your mindset and setting, and your individual biology.

How do you handle weed? Do you have a predisposition to schizophrenia or other mental illness? Are you a generally anxious person?

Personally I’d recommend a low dose of mushrooms first before trying other psychedelics, but at the end of the day they’re not for everyone and it’s a question you’ll have to answer for yourself.

I can only vouch for my own experience, which is that proper LSD is extremely powerful and shouldn’t be taken by beginners and that modern labs have made better lysergic drugs with milder effects, like 1cP-LSD, which is admittedly the only one I’ve tried personally.

No idea why I forgot about psilocybin as a substitute. This is definitely the better suggestion though.

Why didn’t Nancy sing about them shrooms instead

Well, that was covered by IMO a superior vocalist

Also … it was 1967. Acid and pot were well known counterculture icons the average radio listener/album-buyer in Sinatra’s market knew about; hence the lyrics. And the popular conception didn’t draw a lot of distinction between the different drugs. Hippies did that stuff to “get mellow”.

EDIT: I have done a lot of stupid shit to get high. But definitely drawing the line at oxygen deprivation and literal deadly myco-poison
