Have you ever played https://www.worldguessr.com/ ? A lot of the guessing has to do with the light. I can sometimes tell Southern France from Florida because one is brighter. It doesn’t always work, but sometimes it does.
funny you say that I used to be a massive Geoguessr addict when it was free. And yeah light was very useful. Though I quit after a while because I realised I wasnt truly learning to recognise landscapes just like road infrastructure and what google street view run the photo was from ahah.
I like world guesser because you can play against people on a timer. For me, it was everything combined. I count it as a video game, lol. I play every so often, but not that often anymore.
