Do note that performance will probably take a hit since it’s running off a USB, but it usually works just fine for basic web browsing, writing a spreadsheet, etc.

I know Ubuntu allows you to try out the OS off of a USB before you do a full install. Do note that performance will probably take a hit since it’s running off a USB, but it usually works just fine for basic web browsing, writing a spreadsheet, etc.
