In Portugal, violators face fines ranging from €150 to €3,000, with exemptions for health, professional, artistic or weather-related reasons, as well as in places of worship, diplomatic missions and on aircraft. #EuropeNews
Banning people from covering their face willingly is an absurd attempt to control people’s behaviour. Banning people from forcing others to cover their faces is pointless because you already have ways to stop that.
This is plainly just a way to satisfy the right, diluting the power of the law and causing a scene in public.
Willingly? How is it that only women are choosing them “willingly”? How is it that only women from oppressive countries are choosing them “willingly?” Burquas are the public oppression and dehumanization of women. They compromise basic human activities and are dangerous. They have no place in a society.
People will accept anything as long as it is only women who are the victims.
