In Portugal, violators face fines ranging from €150 to €3,000, with exemptions for health, professional, artistic or weather-related reasons, as well as in places of worship, diplomatic missions and on aircraft. #EuropeNews
More bullshit to make a two bird one stone targeting both muslim minorities and activists. And as usual, the “yeah but you see it’s a feminist move” talks from far right is… a crackdown on women.
Because either the woman was free to wear it or not, and then you’re restricting their freedom of religion, culture and clothing, either they were forced to wear it by someone else, and then this someone else will just ban them from going out in public. It makes free women less free, and oppressed women less free and more oppressed. It’s just more problems and less freedom for women, and no worries for any man. This is a crackdown on women, or we disagree on the notion of crackdown (i may use it wrong).

How in the world is restricting a dangerous and compromising item that oppresses women a “crackdown on women”?
