Researchers developed a method to generate uniform layers of ultrathin superconducting material that remains stable in air, which could be used to build more compact and efficient quantum devices.
That’s very cool. They grew the NiSe2 between a graphene monolayer and SiO2 to prevent degradation. I’m looking forward to reading the actual paper when I have more time and access to see what precursor they used to work well in that small space and how they enabled growth in that 1nm gap.
