I think that if we want to be free from google and apple duopoly on mobile we need to embrace linux phones. It is the only solution. Google is trying to close the golden cage slowly and we need to escape on other operating system also on mobile. We re only delay a problem. We need phone preinstalled with linux for mass adoption. We need more apps for linux phones and more userbase.

Mobile Linux really is quite good, I’m hoping more Linux-only phone hardware comes in the near future. Honestly, I am not convinced we even should have cellphones to begin with: relying on the proprietary cellular network which can so easily be monitored, hacked and used to abuse you and your privacy is a non-starter to me. Let’s just go back to the era of mp3 players and laptops.
You seem like someone who might enjoy meshtastic, an open source mesh network done by regular people
Meshcore is a step up from Meshtastic for people who actually want to use it for true communications and Reticulum is the next level above even that, but the user experience could definitely use some work first.
I really do love mesh networking projects like that. One of my favorites is Secure Scuttlebutt.

Noooo, I can’t have another hobby 😭 I did however talk a friend of mine into setting a node up at the top of the building he works in, lol.
Haha nice! Those are the best! Thanks for you and your friend expanding the network.
Its so cheap to get started…but the accessories and “just one more device” is real.
Now you can t live without smartphone
Try me.
