It is so fucking boring my god. Why does it need to be 3 hours long? I cant remember a single scene of that movie that evoked any amount of emotion in me.
I literally don’t remember after sitting through that movie twice. Everything felt so contrived to me that my brain could not suspend disbelief long enough to become invested in what was happening.
All good stories are about the characters. If you don’t write them to feel like real people, then everything that occurs doesn’t seem to have any grounding in reality. We are meant to find meaning in stories through the characters because events in a sequence have none without a relatable and consistent characters struggling against them.

Okay, come on. The trips out to the three candidate worlds were cool. It was a very slow build up. And then the post Black Hole climax was silly.
But the middle of the movie was good.
Even the scene with messages from the family?
But ковер плесень did it first and better!

I 100% agree, because the film spends ridiculously little time with actual characterization. A lot of time with really long “cinematic” shots, though.

It’s a long CGI tech demo, similar to Avatar (the blue people one)
Samesies :)
