You can just uninstall Edge. I recently set up my brother’s new laptop and it was just a programming that could be deleted. And I’m from the EU as well.
Can you dig into the application itself and prise out the executable, leaving the rest of the support files in place?
I go at the binaries in troublesome programs (am looking at you, google keystoneagent, bane of my old computer systems…) that are for macOS, and it works a treat, since the daemons that launch updates will read the path and look for the enclosing folders and miss that the actual binary is gone. I had that fucker silenced UNTIL I made the mistake of grabbing a copy of Google Earth Pro and WHOMP! There it is again… but I’ve been too lazy to go haul it out again.
