    I agree!

    The way that I combat this is that I have my own domain and make a trash@yadayada.something and that’s all they get from me.

    I can get the verification link and the rest goes to a box called “the void”. The void auto deletes every night.

      I do wonder though. With device fingerprinting being what it is (and I’m only learning how deep it goes) I imagine it would be fairly easy to say all @yadaya.something are all the same person, and not individual people.

      I do a lot to stay anonymous/blend in (so many different threat models) but I wonder how much it does if they jsut know anyway.

      So… I got a zigbee outlets bar because I want to control some stuff independently, and apparently the firmware does export its 5 switches at the zigbee interface, but will relay any command into all of them unless it detects you are using the app that goes to the cloud and requires an account…

      The shit is in all IoT, not only on the WiFi stuff.

          It claims HA compatibility, because the switches work (just all at the same time). Also, no device publishes information on the firmware or hardware details so that you can check an HA maintained list.
