following the rules of the ten commandments is something that leads to a somewhat healty community

Except the first four is all about how you must follow and obey the Xian god. It’s the last six that are fairly practical, almost to the point of common sense.

Common sense now, that is thousands of years after they were written.

I do not disagree with either of you, I am not christian but I mostly appreciate and abide by the ten commandments. I doubt I would if our morals were not forged over those commandments over the past 2000 years.

Please re read the actual ten commandments, then your own comment.

If you’re not christian, you’re not following the commandments, because they’re 40% contractual obligation to worship the christian god exclusively.

Agreeing not to steal, murder, or fucking your neighbours’ goats, on the other side, is hardly something christians have a monopoly on.

But then, all of the Old Testament is really Jewish with some minor edits to retrofit it for the sequel. Guess somebody coveted their neighbour’s scripture and broke its fundamental rules to swipe it.
