i really, really wanted to argue with your point, but i just heard a car backfire outside my house and i knew it was a very loud car backfire and not a gunshot because there bang didn’t boom just so. also because at my old place, my neighbor is a mechanic and still has the 60’s mustang he drove in high school (i think. maybe 70’s. SHE’S BLUE OKAY) in show condition and he’d never stand for a backfire like that, president of the car club would take away his keys.
anyways this town has gotten a hell of a lot safer (it’s not an out and out gang war like it was in the 90s) so i’m about as worried about gun violence as i am nuclear war (thanks mr turnip!) but, like also my wife teaches elementary so i follow those godsdamned statistics.
