    Ads might be traceable but they are the tip of the iceberg for social media influence. It is almost impossible to know who is behind the memes and comments coming from foreign operations.

    Many social media posts of Australian politics don’t even originate in Australia and could be sponsored by literally anyone and are completely unchecked and unregulated. Foreign owned social media is a tool of political and economic destabilization.

    A healthy, broadly educated population, which feels safe and secure, is incompatible with, and toxic to, conservative and authoritarian ideologies.
