Just want to get some perspective on what people think of the American reaction. I’m NOT asking if it will happen. I’m asking what do you think Americans will do, if anything if this happens. Do you think people will just not care or protest on the streets?

Edit: What would your reaction would be? (even if not American)

    1. The 5 world owners and their retainers will continue to eat human children meat before dissolving their corpses in acid and then complaining no one likes their great ideas on their personally owned social media platforms.

    2. Big pickup truck drivers will continue to ride everyone’s ass while slurping their giant Dunkin coffee and posting instagram videos about the woke while traveling to their job to not make any money to cover the cost of their big truck and ball cap and sunglasses and frustrations about the slutty daughter/son they’re mad they can’t fuck.

    3. Everyone else will scramble in their own way to go to the place to make the money that doesn’t cover the cost of traveling to the place to make the money while slowly melting into atomic scrap.

    4. One or two people might be snarky on Bluesky that the T’s orange line is running shuttle service between oak grove and north station as the sky burns.

    5. One singulary stupid, sad, scared and ultimately brain-dead New American (neé New Mexican) will say to himself “At least I warned my brother about the FEMA SUPER HIGHWAY Obama was planning to (and totally successfully) build to disappear dissidents back in 2010! I Always had his back!”

    6. The entire habitable world will perish probably within a month.

But ya know… life finds a way

Honestly I’d be way more concerned about Iran getting pushed into finally making their nuke so they can lob it back and start WWIII; or Israel seeing it as a green light to just start nuking whoever they please.

Iran isn’t fissile material-less, they could probably form a completely functional bomb with some assistance from NK and China (or next door Pakistan if they suddenly decide to abandon uncle sam). It might require some hefty price, but they could probably trade away oil access rights and have their material covertly sent to NK for final processing into a bomb.

Even if China doesn’t want to get involved, they could just as easily make some quick dirty bombs, attach it to their ballistic missiles, and perma scar a significant portion of the earth with radiation poisoning.

The general American public response is largely irrelevant because it’s already too late to matter. Even if they ripped out the entirety of DC and formed a completely new government, there’s no stopping the consequences of such an action.

Will they though? Israel certainly wants us to think Iran is 2 weeks away from developing nuclear weapons… But does Iran actually have nukes? I suspect the CIA and/or Mossad might know if anyone outside of Iran’s leadership does. But given that there was a treaty between the US and Iran till Trump decided to break it and neither Obama nor Biden had any issue with Iran (after said deal by Obama), I suspect that Iran might even have been upholding its end of the deal until Trump’s shenanigans.

Neither Russia nor China will nuke the US on Iran’s behalf. China would never do a nuclear first strike against US and Putin would likely only do it (and potentially be overridden by officers with consciences) if he sees he’s going to be deposed for fucking up with the war in Ukraine in which case he might decide to just destroy the entire world. Or he might not, who the fuck knows. But I doubt he’d do it just for Iran’s sake.

I ain’t saying Iran is gonna retaliate with nukes.

I’m more worried it’ll cause a chain reaction to which nukes are uses by other nuclear powered nations freely. Eventually leading to nukes flying to us.

Oh for sure, Trump would love to nuke Iran. I hope it doesn’t happen, but there’s no guarantees with him.

I’m just saying that the potential for fallback on Americans on US soil is… minimal.

Nothing, absolutely nothing. Just look at the state America is in now. Epstein island, Trump president and ICE to name a few. Nothing much is happening.

So why would this particular event change anything? I don’t think Americans will do anything unless their own country is in immediate threat of being nuked and then again, most probably will just shout in void on the internet.

How do you think Americans will react if USA drops a Nuke on Iran?

They’re okay with dropping the equivalent of dropping over 6 nukes on a concentration camp with over 50% child population, why wouldn’t they be okay with dropping a few on what they’ve been raised to believe is the big bad wolf?

As a American, we wouldnt even care. Maybe 2-3 days of news, maybe a few protests. But that’s it.

    I’m being real.

We had a crazy person do a school shooting on a elementary school called Sandy Hook.

We had cops drop actual bombs on citizens in West Philadelphia.

Remember when America bombed that country and killed thousands of civilians? Are you going “which one”? Cambodia. Vietnam. Iraq. Iran. Hell, Iran’s bombing had literal school children.

    We wouldn’t care.

The move bombing is a bad example given the fact they were in their second shootout with the police and had fortified the building specifically to repel the cops after making about a dozen credible bomb threats including fake bombs.

Yes the police over reacted but that situation was not entirely one sided like the rest of your examples.

The police never needed to be involved in the first place as far as Move goes. If they’d de-escalated it wouldn’t have been the problem they created. So it pretty much was one-sided.

Showing up armed and ready is distinctly different then continually escalating to a gunfight, a bombing and a subsequent fire they allowed to burn down a whole neighborhood, correct?

They admitted to building a self defined bunker with self defined gunports before the police were called but no no, clearly the people making and planting fake bombs had no reason for the police to show up.

I had said this about a year ago, but i strongly believe that one country (US, Russia, Israel, etc) will get a “one free nuke” pass. Way too much time has passed since WW2 and though people know what it does, the visceral feeling isn’t there.

The first one to drop one will receive a lot of condemnation, sanctions and hand wringing but that will be it. Now if a second one is dropped by any nation, that will most likely trigger an armed conflict.

But right now, countries have become too passive about physical action and would not know how to react.

A lot of conventional weapons had and have since done massively more damage than the two nukes used in WWII. just a lot of junk sci-fi in the interceding years to make them out like this “will make Fallout Video Game” world if used once or twice.

The whole idea of the Cold War mutually assured distruction is that if one entity fires a nuke, everyone else fires all the nukes (which WOULD destroy the current biosphere without a doubt).

In the magical realm of one singular nuclear weapon being used, and in the aftermath cooler heads prevailing, the damage and loss of life would be not much more than your average IDF Monday Morning Rape and Pillage Fest.

The same reaction when the US dropped non-nuclear bombs on Iran, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Lebanon, Palestine, Afghanistan, Serbia, Bosnia… not only from this president. Americans don’t care about anything, they only care about money and how (dropping bombs on other people) will affect their income/taxes, nothing more. Non-Americans will protest (pro-Western people, whatever that means), some will call for a holy war against the devil-loving US, some will say nothing hoping they will be the next to do something similar (you know who), and the rest will simply be silenced.

Schumer will write a strongly worded memo complaining that it was just one nuke and not 50, and that the US must send monetary aid to Israel because they might get some radiation from our nukes. And, some rallies will be held in which ICE beats protesters en masse and kills a few. Same as always.

Most Americans literally do not know.

Mainstream news won’t report on any of our bases being attacked. Our government, as well as governments of countries in which our bases are located, is suppressing any information about those attacks.

I just met a guy from Bahrain who said people who took photos or video of the base there were getting arrested, phones confiscated, etc. It’s not in our news at all, and the military won’t release any information other than saying the base is currently inoperable.
