Dumpster diving still relies on industrial agriculture happening and doesn’t scale to more than a small portion of the population, some of whom have no other choice but to do so.
I don’t think that paying for it or not paying for it changes anything about the ethics of how it came to be. Dumpster diving concerns capitalism, not veganism.

True, but at a personal level, you can get perfectly ethical food that way, even meat.
