So they made it appear that the path of least resistance was directly in, and then when it wasn’t, the elephants realized that there might be a different path of least resistance, possibly similar to the black boxes they’d already experienced? That doesn’t sound like inhibition to me.
Exploring the inside of the clear box before taking the fruit may only demonstrate that the elephants rank knowledge of an unknown object higher than consuming a known fruit. Neat, but also not inhibition.
Lovely ellies! More humane than some humans. 🐘✨
Humans are predators. Elephants aren’t. Killing is likely inconceivable.
They lack human nature. The thing that got us to number 1 but that still isn’t enough.
The thing that got us to #1 was opposable thumbs and intelligence. Other animals have one or the other.
Octopi are dextrous enough without thumbs, but they are solitary animals with relatively short lifespans. If they lived longer and worked together, they would rule the oceans.
Children of Ruin paints a glorious picture of the possibilities.
I’m referring to human nature, not species anatomy. Dexterity does not have us now applying survival competition within our own species.
