When’s the last time you saw a car other than red, black, blue, gray, or white on the road?
Like, what happened to all the pinks, purples, oranges, yellows, and greens I remember from the 90s?
I see a beat up old lime green Hilux around where I live with a big “The Sword” sticker on the aide window of the camper. I want to have a beer and listen to good metal with the owner.
Saw and orange ugly ass Mazda yesterday, and disgusting lime green Tesla truck, and neon pink Tesla, a hunter green vw bug. But god help me the “trendy” color in my state right now that absolutely makes me want to gag is Khaki.
Maybe it’s due to being in LA, but I’ve seen plenty of bright colors, an iridescent finish once or twice, and occasionally Angeline Pink.
Oh, I love an iridescent or opalescent finish.
There’s a Smart that looks like a cozy coupe that I see fairly often! Also my car is black at white instead of just a solid color. That’s mostly because I’ve had to replace the bumpers after an accident.
Yesterday! But I’ve been trying to just look around more. There’s an orange car often, and some pink ones. Also trucks like to be green. Or stripped!
My theory of because of the rental fleet to used car lots flow. Rental fleets will buy newer cars, then sell them back to the dealerships so they can sell them as used cars. It’s much easier to sell generic coloured cars, than highlighter piss yellow
I was just talking about the number of cars that seem to be garden utensil green / brown.
Mine is purple :)
I see a Tuscadero (Metallic Pink) Jeep Wrangler about every other day on my way home from work. Always puts a Smile in my face.
My car is green and my partners car is lava orange 🤘
My partner and I drive a bright green Chevy Bolt EV (“Shock” is the official name of the color) and we love the smiles we sometimes get.
Most car dealerships only stock black, white, silver or grey.
I walked into our showroom the other day and it was very reminiscent of Henry Fords “any colour, as long as it’s black”. There were also two silver cars and one dark blue car hidden in the back, as if it was ashamed of itself.
I drive a tan car. My niece drives a mint green car. There are two jungle green Zeekr’s in our street but every single other car is monochrome.
Today, because my car is green 😝
I actually hate the attention it gets, but I’m poor and it was cheap. Never seems like a good idea to me if other drivers can easily remember you. On the other hand, I can always find it in a big parking lot.
I saw a green one the other day too
I’m from the UK and recently was in Toronto so rented a car to get around and also to drive to Montreal. We will observed that all the cars were very limited in colours. Is it a North American thing?
In the UK, it has been getting less diverse but still a fair bit of variety
Same experience here. White cars are increasingly common as apparently they have the highest resale value. Quite boring.
Today: yellow, turquoise, green, all in a carpark near my house.
