Very strange indeed. I wonder if Kurzgesagt has done something to upset the crowds? I haven’t watched any of their stuff in a year or two, but the ones I did watch were excellent and I thought they were well liked and popular. And accurate. And willing to correct their mistakes.
IIRC it was a lack of transparency regarding funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation, some videos with very dubious science behind them presented as fact, and I believe one case of essentially plagiarism from another creator (there was at least some dispute).
They did since come out and apologized for some of it but the whole drama did sour the channel for some people.

I think it’s just people being weary of these “i fixed cancer guys” stories that turn into some scam or fake stuff
Too many people have family that fell for faith healing and/or cancer curing supplements.
