I almost quit Nier Automata immediately, because the game opens right off the bat with a very long interactive cutscene with gameplay elements which you cannot pause or skip, and during which you cannot save.

And if you die you have to do it all over from the beginning

Fortunately that turned out to be the worst part of the game for me, and I enjoyed the rest of it.
