My one gripe with Android Auto currently is that you can’t use a separate Bluetooth headset/mic with Google assistant. It makes the assistant useless for motorcycles unless the AA unit supports connecting a Cardo/Sena directly to it.
I’m keeping my eye on this one. I want a better AA app, and my hu is a chineae aftermarket one, so yeah

I haven’t seen any evidence that AI was used. I haven’t really looked at the codebase, but the commit history looks like it was written by a human and nothing in the README or in the wiki stands out to me as AI generated.
At first glance the code also doesn’t look ai generated to me. The formatting of code is a little weird in some places, but not in a way i usually see llms do it.
I also took a quick peek at the code. Looks distinctly human to me. I’m faced with AI code daily, while I still write my own code 97.89% by hand.
Who cares if it foes the job?
How long will it do the job? How well does it do the job?
Well it’s a program, so as long as anything else?
I’m not sure how you’d even rate this. It works? So I guess as good as anything else that works?
Thats the thing. Fully ai generated code becomes a mess and has more chances to break in the long run or become very inefficient, thats just a given atm.
Ive seen projects flurish with ai because a senior dev looked over it, but ive seen projects go to hell because it was fully ai code with no control on quality and correctness.
It might work at one point, and be completely unusable the next.Programming is more than just “it works” and if a project is successful or not in the long run also hinges if the code quality and architecture is maintained.
Just wanted to chip in as a senior dev and say that you’re right.
