Roughly 96% of people polled by the Mirror US believe Donald Trump is the “dumbest president ever.”
The survey, conducted last week, asked 15,000 people to assess President Trump’s decision-making as the crucial 2026 midterm elections approach.
“‘Dumb’” is such a polite word," one commented.
“I think it’s pretty obvious to anyone with an IQ over 90. Even kids think he’s stupid,” another joked.
Judging by by the proclamations of the maga crowd, he is precisely a dumb person’s idea of a smart person.
If this study is accurate then no. If he were, whatever percentage of the population you call dumb would then describe him as smart. Unless you only consider less than 6% of people dumb then it can’t be the case.
Magats don’t want a smart person. They want someone just as dumb or even dumber than they are.
The same goes for his felonies, his child rapes, his failed businesses, and his astounding corruption. They love him because of these things, not despite them. He’s is the perfect representative the magat class.
This makes sense. The president is supposed to be held to a higher standard, on a level of Overton Window reasoning, which is what this demographic mostly operates on, this means that the president is viewed to be objectively at that level by default, regardless of who they are and what they do, the position/system wouldn’t allow otherwise, this allows subjective justification of anything above that line as not only acceptable but superior morality. “If the president can rape kids then I can use the n-word!” Levels of thinking. Him setting the bar at the floor allows some people to think that their bar is really high. Him being the president, with no other factors involved, enables a false sense of morality in a certain demographic of people. He validates them as honorable, and they take that personally.
