Call of Duty company Activision are now in charge of Halo following Xbox cuts, with Halo Studios stripped and reduced to a support studio for existing games.

Halo is officially dead. It’s been dying for a while, this seals it.

For long time halo fans in the aughts, this is literally the last thing any of us ever wanted. Halo was always a completely different game than Call of Duty, but business never understood that and so today officially marks the end, where the Halo we knew is gone, and anything new will be a CoD clone more than anything else.

    Fun fact: Campaign Evolved is technically the third remake.

    Bungie was originally a Mac exclusive game company when they were bought out by MS. Halo was almost complete at that point and had to be ported to DirectX. The original PowerPC edition got a release eventually as well as an updated Universal Binary version that, due to the MacBook Air, is the only game I know of to have an official no-CD patch.
