Ya I’ve been to a few too. My fav was when there was sound issues and Josh stopped playing, the band went back stage, and he just sat there drinking a bottle of vodka. He’d update us on whatever info he was getting, slowly the bottle disappearing. 20 mins later he said a line I’ll never forget, aimed at the sound engineers, “Isn’t it funny how the people that say they’ll be there for you always hurt you the most?” Then just kept sipping vodka, sitting on a sound monitor.
Finally, with almost an entire bottle gone, the issue was fixed. They started playing again. Josh was stumbling around but didn’t miss a single note on the guitar or on vocals. It was like being awesome at his craft was just subconscious to him but the solos went longer, he did more insane shit. All perfect.
The only other band I’ve seen so tight like they may as well have recorded a one-take album right then and there was The Strokes.
