Lawsuit claims about 50% of shipments from 2022-24 had fruit exceeding Canadian safety levels
Driscoll’s berries are on many Canadians’ plates and all over Canadian grocery stores, with their tagline claiming to be “only the finest berries.”
But a whistleblower lawsuit in California alleges the finest berries were not sent to Canada: instead, millions of pounds of fruit containing non-compliant levels of pesticides and chemicals crossed the border, and the company tried to cover it up.
California resident and former Driscoll’s employee David Harada claims in the lawsuit that by Driscoll’s own estimates, about 50 per cent of all shipments to Canada from 2022 to 2024 had fruit that exceeded Canadian safety levels.

Not all hems can be washed simply by rinsing , others are within. Otherwise simple rain would do the job .
I still would not trust them. They water the plants with shitty water too. Also genetically manipulated.

Also, a lot of ag producers will till biosolids into their fields as fertilizer, which are the leftover spoils from sewage treatment plants. The biosolids are supposed to be composted enough to kill off harmful microbes, but sometimes they don’t get up to kill step temp.
Regardless of complete composting, they usually have residual chemicals that are in the wastewater stream that aren’t removed in wastewater treatment, like pissed out pharma drugs/metabolites, random household chemicals and hazardous waste, PFAs, etc.

Thank you. Eloquently put. What I was try to say about sewage spillover with waste from humans with whatever drugs etc they take out into the sewers.
you might want to pick a better word than ‘shitty’ when talking about feeding plants considering what fertilizer is.
There’s a difference between fertilizer and shit in the ground water used to feed the plants.

The fertilizer is often shit. Chicken shit, to be exact, but others are used as well.
Yes the commercial fertilizers are produced to do that and contain poop. I am referring to the underground water that is tainted with all sorts of nasty things which they use to feed the berries.
Can you name a specific nasty thing here in the ground water that is bad for plants? As plants rely on ground water. As do trees. That’s often where they source their water hence where the roots are.
Sure. Chemicals that seep into the ground water. Old city sewer pipes that leak raw human sewage etc into the ground water. Regular fertilizer from farm animal poop does not have these things in it. Do a search on chemical leaks into water table and broken sewer pipes leaking into ground water. I am sure you will find more than enough to substantiate my claim.
I’d say farm animals in US are being fed chems, drugs and steroids. I’m pretty sure some of it gets into their poop and ends up on fields.
I am trying to find the article I read about them using tainted ground water (chemicals, raw sewage from public not the fertilizer that is sold as such with farm animal poop) on top of the forever chemicals that are supposed to be in them as well. Hopefully, I will find it and post it.
