These cars handle great. Modern adjustable suspension is magic. The only real issue is the visibility without a front camera and gas mileage in the grand scheme vs other trucks.
I’ve driven a modern pickup truck. It felt like driving a tall barge. Steering inputs felt like they were connected to the front wheels by mail order both in responsiveness and tactile feeling. You don’t drive it as much as you aim it down the road and hope you won’t need to make a sudden correction because if you overcorrect you’ll only know one second too late. Best I can describe it to non-car people is that it is like playing Mario Kart with a 1 second input lag.
Any kind of aggressive turn quickly overwhelms the fat and soft tires and traction breaks unpredictably. And because there is no weight on the back once it breaks loose it is extremely difficult to recover from it.
There is no way you would be able to successfully perform an emergency maneuver at the same speeds as even a basic boring sedan, let alone a proper sports car that normally comes with that kind of power.
People should experience actually driving a vehicle to their limits on a closed track at least once in their lives to understand. Let alone experience how an actually good handling car behaves under those conditions in comparison.
You have not driven a modern pickup with trophy truck adaptive suspension. And you likely haven’t driven anything like an x5m. They are absurdly capable. You also absurdly exaggerate modern truck handling. They are quite good even on the economy trucks.
PS:You’re speaking to an scca and nasa instructor with well over 30 races in podunk shit you haven’t heard of. So while I’m not the fastest in the world I do know enough to call out a moron claiming that modem trophy trucks with adaptive dampingers lack steering responsiveness and compare it to a fucking cx5 😂

Oh hell no. Now I know you’re just lying.
I don’t know how it is physically possible to have that much speed with that much mass and handle “well”.
They’ve gotten real good at it. I really doubt these things get into higher rates of accidents or cause worse injuries.
